Stop Smoking Pills - The Latest Tragedy

Posted by Suzanne on December 06, 2008

Stop smoking pills from the doctor make no sense to me, because I have never come across an individual who truly needed them.

The Wall Street Journal may not agree, but it published this damning information about the latest stop-smoking fiasco.

U.K. Regulator Warns About Chantix and Suicide

There’s a new development around Pfizer’s smoking-cessation drug Chantix and suicide: The United Kingdom’s drug regulator has issued an update linking the medicine to reports of “depression and suicide related events.”

Documents posted by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency give the following advice: “Patients who are taking [Chantix] who develop suicidal thoughts or who develop agitation, depressed mood, or changes in behaviour that are of concern for the doctor patient, family, or caregiver should stop their treatment and contact their doctor immediately.”

What I’d like to know is why give a drug addict another drug instead of just removing the reasons for the drug addiction? In my experience, that is far easier, less costly, and more beneficial to the recipient. Cigarette addiction is like any other addiction, and the main causes are emotional, even if you don’t realize that at first. Now there are simple and relatively painless ways to removing those pesky negative emotional blocks in your path, and you could do it from as little as one session. Time and time again, in the stop-smoking session, my client and I reach a point where there is no cigarette craving whatsoever, and this continues the next day, and so on. Surely if cigarettes caused a physical addiction, this would not be the case? And for every client convinced that this was a physical phenomenon, I was able to show that by removing the emotional element, somehow the physical part went away. So why have a dangerous physical intervention? It makes no sense. I am certainly not anti-drug and definitely not anti-pharmaceuticals, as everything has its place. It just is not in my experience that a stop-smoking drug is needed.

Yours sincerely,

Stop Smoking for the Beijing 2008 Olympics - China PR Fiasco

Posted by Suzanne on August 22, 2008

Pubs and restaurants in Beijing were supposed to stop smoking. Then there was a big uproar and China had to allow smoking in the end, despite the Olympics.

Clearly this was a PR exercise that failed. But the point is, most people do not associate athletics with smoking. Just like you would not associate healthy living with smoking. Put it this way, if you were to choose a new doctor, would you feel confident choosing a doctor who smokes? If you were to visit a hypnotherapist, would you feel assured of the outcome with a hypnotist who smoked?

Although smacking of Big Brother, it does actually make sense to stop smoking in restaurants and bars, I have just come to Cape Town in South Africa from London in the UK. In Cape Town, smoking is allowed in bars and restaurants. Some restaurants make an attempt to make a non-smoking section, the rare coffee bar is non-smoking, but most bars and restaurants frankly stink. In London, smoking was banned in all public places last year, and it is a pleasure now to go out for a drink or a meal. There was initially much worry about going smoke-free. Businesses were worried about losing custom. However, in the UK most people are non-smokers now, and so this was a great deal easier.

And despite the health risks, in Cape Town, just like Beijing, there is a need for a drug. Nicotine happens to be a perfect drug. It calms you when you need calming, wakes you when you need to be alert, is easily delivered into the body, and is legally available.

Smoking is a coping mechanism. Smoking takes the not-Fun out of life and the smoker is left with Fun. Smoking takes the not-Happy out of life so the smoker is left with Happy. Without smoking, the smoker is faced with a great deal of not-Fun and not-Happy, and life is very grim indeed. People need to be healthy. However, they also need to be happy. Sometimes being happy is more important than being healthy. Why should it matter if you die early of cancer or a heart attack, if you have lived a happy life? And who actually wants to live a long and miserable life?

This is why nicotine replacement and various wonder pills alone fail. When the smoker is given ways to be naturally happy, such as with EFT, hypnosis, or meditation, then they can finally be calmly free from smoking. And when a nation is healed, when it becomes stronger from within, you get smoke-free restaurants. It really is a holistic matter.

China has a great deal of trauma from the past, as does Cape Town. The pain of the people needs the balm of nicotine. I sincerely hope that one day, this pain will release. With this release, there will no longer be a need for cigarettes. And then China can rest assured that its bars and restaurants will be smoke-free.

Stop Smoking Hypnosis Cape Town South Africa

Posted by Suzanne on August 20, 2008

Dear Ex-Smoker-to-be,

Your Hypnosis offer in Cape Town includes Stop Smoking EFT, Stop Smoking Laser, and Advanced Hypnosis. The Hypnosis helps to get messages through to your unconscious mind enabling you to succeed, the EFT releases blocks in the path of your success, and the Laser helps you desensitize you from the physical addiction. So you can quit smoking without feeling you are giving up anything.

Don’t wait till you suffer a heart attack or emphysema. And if you have already, it is even more urgent that you act now! And if you are smoking and pregnant, make sure you call me now for your appointment. You’ll be glad you did. I want to set you free from smoking forever. What’s more, I want you to refer your friends and family, so that they can benefit too.

JUST WANT TO LET YOU KNOW. IT IS MY 4TH DAY NOW AND I AM GOING STILL STRONG AT IT. I JUST WANT TO THANK YOU EVER SO MUCH FOR HELPING ME.” Jayne, Cape Town

And Michelle, also from Cape Town, sent the following SMS about a follow-up appointment scheduled for a month after she quit: “Hello there, I am still doing great! I’m going to skip the appointment [tomorrow]… I’m very happy and proud :-)… Thanks for your support.”

My stop-smoking success program is so effective that it works even when I am not there. Tanya from the UK used this program solely by e-book download rather than the 3-in-1 special in-person offer. Shortly after, she sent me this by email: “I just want to let you know that your Stop Smoking eBook is by far the best tool I have ever used in my bid to stop smoking… during the week of not smoking, I was premenstrual, I received bad news about my fathers health, I lost my purse and I had petty arguments with my husband, all of these situations would normally have driven me to smoke but since tapping I refrained from smoking and am pleased to say I have been smoke free for 6 days now thank you for producing the Stop Smoking eBook it has been my life saver.” That was in May 2008. Tanya has since emailed me to say that she remains a non-smoker.

Typically, my ex-smoker clients refer many others to me. Like John, who referred 11 clients in a three-month period. After all, this is an essential freedom - to breathe, to have a tongue, voicebox, legs, a heartbeat, the things you took for granted when you (or your loved one) started smoking, are no longer secure. The smoking is killing you or a loved one now, and that is why you are reading this.

How Much For This Life-Saving Treatment?

In South Africa, some people quit in one session, and most need an average of 3-4. Even after you have quit, we schedule another appointment. Because anyone can quit smoking - you do it every night when you are asleep! But the trick is to stay quit! My sessions are very generous, at least 2 hours for the first session, then usually up to 2 hours for subsequent sessions. Now, I know the nature of addiction. An addiction will twist your mind many times over, it will lie to you till you lie to yourself, it will trick you at every opportunity. The temptation to attend one session for an hour and pretend you are cured is bigger than you can ever imagine. So I have come up with a very special offer for smokers who are serious about quitting, regardless of the route you personally need to take, whether 1, 2, or even 6 sessions. I am offering a unique combination of Advanced Hypnosis, EFT, and Laser. This 3-in-1 offer is available today for a mere R2600 (a rollback to the old price, and you will get 24 hours notice here when the price increases to reflect the true value) and covers you for up to 6 sessions of about 2 hours each; and with one reserve session just-in-case, for up to 5 years in total. This is so low because I really want you to come to me and experience this excellent 3-in-1 method, because I know you will tell your friends, family, and colleagues of your success.

If we can do this in one session, you stay with me for as long as it takes for you to be smoke-free, usually about 2 hours. Now, if you need more sessions, I think it is unfair that you pay any more. So I have come up with a very special offer for smokers who are serious about quitting regardless of the route you personally need to take. I am offering a results-based combination of Advanced Hypnotism, EFT, and Laser. This 3-in-1 offer is available today for a mere R2600, a rollback to the lower price and covers you for up to 6 two-hour sessions; and with one reserve session just-in-case, for up to 5 years in total. This is so low because I really want you to come to me and experience this excellent 3-in-1 method, because I know you will tell your friends, family, and colleagues of your success.

Kind to your pocket in every way…

Some clients would quite like the six-session package but budget is tight, so I now have another package of a course of 3 sessions, up to two hours each, for ONLY R1500. Most Capetonian now ex-smokers quit with me in 1-4 sessions. Will you be one of them?

And… There’s More…

I am often asked: What if it doesn’t work? Well, we do not take guesses at this. How do I know you get results? Simple, I test, test and test. I put your cigarettes in front of you, place them in your hand (unlit of course), and together we assess for success.

Get back in control; call me now on 072 700 5334 for a new beginning.

I look forward to hearing from you very soon.

Yours sincerely,

Suzanne Zacharia

Stop Smoking Advice For Nicotine Addicts

Posted by Suzanne on August 13, 2008

Some would say all smoking is an addiction, while others would argue that it is a habit. I have found in my experience that there is a good proportion of smokers who somehow or other got sucked into smoking, got hooked and then have to smoke to feel normal. I define this type of smoker as a Smoking Addict and recognize the physical part of this addiction for what it is.

Stop Smoking E-Book Author

So how do you know if you are a Smoking Addict?

Do you need a cigarette first thing in the morning or upon waking?

Do you try to smoke at regular intervals throughout your waking hours?

Do you smoke about 20 or more cigarettes a day?

If you have tried to stop, did you lose your concentration and feel ravenously hungry?

If the answers to at least the first three questions is yes, then the way I see it, you are physically addicted. And not necessarily for much longer.

Whilst there is an emotional element in all addiction, many Smoking Addicts have either largely dealt with these or are finding ways to cope. Chances are, if you are addicted, you are so fed up with the addiction that you have a very strong will to succeed. You would also be most likely starting to experience the effects of smoking as a cough, chest infections, or maybe your circulation is not as good as it used to be. This adds to the motivation factor.

There are some smokers who are not only physically addicted as defined above but also have more extensive emotional issues. Should there be other addictions, such as bulimia or hard drugs, it is best to take it step by step, learn coping strategies, take care of the physical side, and heal the underlying emotional issues. A good EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) Practitioner with the relevant experience and skills should be able to help. They may advise you to also seek medical help and may offer to support you with that.

Other than the above, if you are not suffering from depression or anxiety and do not feel that you are using cigarettes as an emotional crutch, then the good news is that quitting smoking is likely to be very quick and easy for you. EFT is based on the acupuncture meridians. It helps to re-balance your body’s “energy” system, release the cravings, improve your concentration, and all the minor emotional issues around smoking. Your EFT Practitioner should be able to help you become a non-smoker within one to two hours. Or you can learn EFT for yourself and help yourself. It takes literally less than one and a half minutes to do a full EFT procedure called the Basic Recipe. This is a robust formula designed to work under many conditions. If treating yourself, all you have to do is repeat this simple procedure every time you would have otherwise lit up, until the desire for a cigarette is completely gone.

One really nice thing about EFT is that when you have a treatment, you are proactive rather than reactive. You participate in your own special experience and walk away empowered with an easy way to gain control over many conditions, as diverse as backache and the common cold and everything in-between. A nice bonus for anyone who only a short while ago was being controlled by nicotine.

Smoking and Genetics - Is Smoking Hereditary?

Posted by Suzanne on August 13, 2008

You can stop smoking if smoking is inherited in your genes. Research shows that whilst genetic factors do play a part in smoking behavior, this is only a small part. Environment, or nurture as well as nature, plays a part too.

Stop Smoking E-Book Author

Studies of a correlation between smoking and genetic factors have come up with three correlations between smokers and their families:

1. The age they start smoking

2. How likely they are to carry on smoking

3. When they stop smoking

Whilst these factors are significant, they are not huge. In other words, you can quit even if everyone in your family is a smoker.

One of the things that are targeted in quit-smoking programs is the beliefs of the smoker. A belief is a very strong psychological incentive, and can be a strong influence on stop-smoking treatment.

So how do you change a belief? The answer is that cannot change a belief per se, what you can change is that an opinion that was once a belief is no longer so.

A belief is an absolute truth, something that we believe to be true based on all the evidence given to us plus the way we have stacked up this evidence in a logical order. Now logic is like building a wall. First you have one brick, then you have another, then another, building brick upon brick till you have a wall. The strength of this wall depends on how good the bricks are. What if there was a brick somewhere near the bottom that was flawed? Remove this brick, and the wall collapses. Take all the good bricks, build again, and you have a much stronger wall in place.

Using methods like EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) with NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), the belief that “I am a smoker because all my family are smokers” can be shown to be merely a flawed opinion. This is replaced by the stronger wall which says “My family are smokers, I choose to render these genes ineffective and become a non-smoker”.

Along with genes leading to flawed opinions, one is exposed to family emotions and family temptations. For instance, if parents were harsh in the treatment of a smoker growing up, who then was encouraged to smoke on every visit to relatives, this of course influences the smoking desire. A person with an unhappy or less educated background is more likely to smoke, and having cigarettes all around this person reinforces the smoking behavior.

The good news is that using methods like EFT, the driving force of our self-limits can be lifted out of your system. What remains is a simple program that covers the following:

A. Education about the dangers of smoking and the true joys of natural living

B. Options that involve something more exciting than being around smokers

C. Behaviural coaching for situations where one is surrounded by smokers

And EFT helps in every one of these situations, leading to true freedom from smoking.

Whilst this may mean more than one quick session for smoking cessation, a structured program like this is more likely to produce long-lasting results and true freedom for good. All I can say is that if you are an ex-smoker-to-be, you can succeed. It is merely the route to success that changes. True success feels good whatever route you take to it and whatever genes you have inherited.
